According to Patrick Stewart, the X-Men's Professor X would be deeply suspicious should he encounter Stephen Strange in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The multiverse lies at the heart of the MCU's Phase 4 slate, offering an opportunity for superhero team-ups on a previously unimagined scale. Already that potential has been realized in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw Tom Holland's Peter Parker working alongside Tobey Maguire's and Andrew Garfield's. But Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness promises to be even more spectacular.
The Super Bowl trailer for Doctor Strange 2 featured a very familiar voice — that of Patrick Stewart, presumably playing Professor X once again. Stewart initially avoided commenting, insisting the voice wasn't his, but little by little he's breaking under sustained questioning, well aware fans are thrilled at the prospect of seeing him reprise the role of Charles Xavier in an MCU movie. In one recent interview, he's all but confirmed that was indeed his voice — and even hinted how Professor X would react to Doctor Strange.

Speaking in an interview with Jake's Takes, Stewart answered a hypothetical question on Professor X's attitude to Doctor Strange. "Professor X would be extraordinarily cautious, and watchful, and perhaps feel a little insecure," Stewart observed, "because there is something that is… potentially dangerous about this man, and I think that would put Professor Xavier on guard." It's an interesting comment, because it dovetails well with the Doctor Strange 2 trailer, in which Strange was arrested and brought before what seemed to be Xavier and other unseen allies.
