Although Professor X has yet to make his MCU debut, Eternals has already hinted at just how powerful the character will be once he is introduced. After leading the X-Men for two decades in the FOX franchise, the most powerful telepath from comics will finally have a chance to integrate a larger Marvel universe. While not much is known about how and when the mutants will first appear, Eternals' Druig is a good indication of how the MCU will showcase the telepathic powers of Charles Xavier.
Even though both Mantis and Wanda have already displayed some sort of mind control ability mixed with other skills, it was not until Eternals that the MCU introduced its first proper telepath. Druig was shown to be one of the most powerful members of the Eternals. Druig’s influence on people’s minds can range from just one individual to entire populations, and he can also erase or rewrite memories, change someone's temper or even speak through someone else's voice. The Eternal can also command hundreds of people to act like mindless drones. As a testimony to his powers, Druig has even pointed out that he could control the entirety of Earth’s population if he wanted to. For a character that is relatively low down the list of Marvel's most well-known heroes, that set of abilities is quite impressive.

Throughout the X-Men franchise, both Patrick Stweart’s and James McAvoy’s versions of Professor Xavier displayed some of those same qualities. Charles can also speak through other people, erase or rewrite memories, and control large groups. However, the range of Xavier’s powers is usually tied to Cerebro.
