The Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer has been released in glorious IMAX 4K quality, providing a better look at the movie's multiversal variants. Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has come a long way since kicking off with Black Widow in 2021, and this year is about to get a lot more out of hand thanks to the introduction of Marvel's multiverse. On the heels of Loki season 1 and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will now be tasked with his own multiversal storyline.
In keeping with Marvel's tradition of intense secrecy, many details about the sequel are still under wraps, though there have been a plethora of rumors regarding what variants might pop up in Doctor Strange 2. After the trailer revealed a mystery voice, Patrick Stewart all but confirmed he will reprise his X-Men role as Charles Xavier a.k.a Professor X, in the movie. It's also clear Cumberbatch will be playing an evil variant of Doctor Strange, most likely Strange Supreme from What If...?, though the exact identity of some of the film's variants still elude fans.
