Overwatch fans appreciate good character design. Some of them appreciate it a little too much, based on the spicy content that floods Twitter as soon as a new character is revealed. But the latest hero has got everyone drooling, and it's even bleeding into how we all play the game.
Over on Overwatch 2, almost no one is referring to Lifeweaver by his actual name. Instead, the new support character has been dubbed "Wifeleaver", named for his incredibly good looks, and the fact that many fans would, in fact, leave their spouse for this man. Now, across the Overwatch fandom, Wifeleaver has pretty much become Lifeweaver's official name, even as he's added to competitive play.

The Overwatch fanbase's efforts have not been in vain. Over on Twitter, "Wifeleaver" is trending all of a sudden, full of players just casually talking about the new support as if this is his official, Blizzard-approved name.
Some players are even sharing instances of Lifeweaver getting called Wifeleaver in the actual game. Such as this amazing text chat below, in which everyone throws themselves at the latest character to hit competitive play.
The character is even getting called Wifeleaver in discussions about Overwatch League and team composition. With any luck, we can get the commentators in on it too. I mean, they already change some of the character names in the callouts (Monkey for Winston, Baby D.Va for D.Va in pilot mode, etc), so it wouldn't hurt to add one more to the list. Sure, I don't think they'd actually save any time saying Wifeleaver instead of Lifeweaver. But it would be funny.
