Lego Fortnite has been going from strength to strength since launch, adding new features and mechanics that allow players to show off their creative sides in more ways than ever. That's pretty impressive considering people were building Star Destroyers and airships not long after launch, but the latest update titled "Mechanical Mayhem" is letting players tinker with new tools to create a wider range of vehicles.
While the update itself has added pre-built vehicles such as Speeders, Offroaders, and Haulers to help with getting about and transporting materials, one player has decided that the ground is for losers and has taken to the skies. This player is Twitter user JawClawsPaws, who recently shared a video of themselves flying around in a fully functional airplane that has an alarming amount of maneuverability.
With this vehicle, JawsClawsPaws is able to turn on a dime, land the craft, and attach it to the ground, all in the comfort of the newly added driver's seat. They explain in the tweet's replies that they managed to create this vehicle by using the newly added Wrench tool, which allows players to assign Switches and Thrusters to different channels rather than have one switch control everything on a single vehicle.
According to the game's patch notes, you can now unlock the recipe for the Wrench tool by adding a single Wooden Rod to your inventory.
Using this Wrench, they tinkered around with the Thrusters so that only certain ones activate at a certain time, letting them turn left and right with relative ease. To land the craft, which is no easy feat as there are also several balloons attached to it, they've set up several Thrusters pointed towards the floor which send the craft slowly back down to the Earth when used.
