Escape from Tarkov has come under fire over the last week for its $250 Unheard Edition which includes an exclusive PvE mode. Anger has been bubbling on the subreddit, and it's gotten so bad that even Helldivers 2 is in on the drama.
"Be sure to check out the deals in the Acquisition Center today, with prices so low, they're practically Unheard of," the official Twitter account posted. "True Believers can grab the CM-21 Trench Parademic for only 250 SC, featuring increased pocket size and extra stims! (Not available for free to Super Citizens.)"
Jokes aside, if you like the armour shown below, it is available in the store . The helmet is sold separately for 125 Super Credits.
Looking closer at the image, there's even a cheeky in-universe review for the armour, rubbing salt in the wound; "RepeatCusttomer: Nice improvement on the previous identical model".
Following the backlash, Battlestate COO Nikita Buyanov posted a statement on the game's subreddit, stressing that the new PvE mode is not DLC as it's not a "major addition to the game". However, most don't agree as you can buy early access to the mode like with other expansions.
As for why it's exclusive, Buyanov claims it's due to a lack of server space and that the new PvE mode cannot accommodate all Edge of Darkness players right now. However, they've since stated that it will be "available for free to all owners of the EoD version at the release of the game".
Helldivers 2 is the sequel to the third-person shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios. This time out, the Helldivers are deep in the Galactic War, and it's up to you to bring Managed Democracy to the masses.
Escape from Tarkov is a PvPvE tactical shooter from Battletsate Games that is an evolution of the battle royale genre. Players must scavenge for equipment and supplies, then survive the map long enough to make their extraction point.
