Naughty Dog's upcoming The Last of us Multiplayer title could be a cross-gen title for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
At least, that's a new job listing from the development studio could suggest. According to the listing, one of the main responsibilities is quality assurance and development support with a focus on the studio's multiplayer titles. Nothing special here, but there might be an interesting tidbit hidden in the required skillset as Naughty Dog mentions "Working knowledge of PS4 and PS5 systems". Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean that the upcoming The Last of Us standalone multiplayer game will indeed be a cross-gen title, but it's an interesting tidbit nonetheless.
Although Naughty Dog hasn't revealed that much about its standalone multiplayer project, we do know that it's the team's most ambitious project to date. "There is The Last of Us multiplayer project that we've been working on for a long time, since even before The Last of Us Part II shipped", Naughty Dog's Druckmann said recently. "That's the most ambitious project we've ever done, expanding the world even further, continuing to tell a story but in a multiplayer space, though I won't say too much about that.
Druckmann also recently hinted at the possibility of the multiplayer game having a focus on co-op by saying that players will be able to enter the game's world "with a friend".
"We've been pretty open that the next Last of Us game is going to be this multiplayer experience, where you'll be able to enter the world of The Last of Us with your friend and get to experience the tension and the brutality of that world — and a brand new story and cast of characters that live in another city that we haven't seen yet in the world of The Last of
