There has been a slew of Star Wars announcements this week, with the recent Star Wars Celebration bringing confirmation of new movies and Disney Plus series. Perhaps the biggest of the pack was the news that Rey will be returning in Star Wars: New Jedi Order.
At the Star Wars Celebration, which is still ongoing at London's ExCel centre, Lucasfilm revealed that three live-action Star Wars movies are in development. One of these is a film set after the events of Rise of Skywalker and will feature Daisy Ridley reprising her role as Rey as she builds a new Jedi Order. Following this announcement, however, a popular fan uprising has been seen across the Internet calling out for John Boyega to return as Finn.

Star Wars: New Jedi Order will be set 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, following Rey as she attempts to rebuild the Jedi Order as a Jedi Master, and has Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy attached as director. "I've always been attracted to the hero's journey and the fact that the world needs many more heroes", Obaid-Chinoy said on stage. Daisy Ridley walked on stage too, saying that she was "very thrilled to be continuing this journey". But on social media, fans have been calling out Disney to bring John Boyega back.
Another popular tweet, with many likes and retweets, reads: "This is really cool but I desperately want them to give John Boyega the story he deserves. If he doesn't want to come back, I 100% understand and respect that decision but they should at least try. They did him so dirty".
