The Star Wars TV series Andor will return for its second and final season in August 2024, or at least that is the current plan. Things could change, of course, but that's the date that series creator Tony Gilroy said at Star Wars Celebration that he is working toward.
«We started shooting in November,» Gilroy said, as reported by IGN. «We're about halfway. We're gonna shoot through August. We're on exact schedule. [We'll] finish in August, spend another year on post. I suppose we'll come out the following August.»
During the panel, attendees got to see new clips from Season 2. The videos showed the characters Cassian, Dedra, Syril, and Bix regrouped and ready for another battle.
There will only be two seasons of Andor, with the second season bringing the events forward to where the movie Rogue One began. As such, Gilroy said of Season 2, «You know where we're going. You saw that Death Star blow up. We make that happen.»
Other announcements from Star Wars Celebration included a trailer and release date for the Ashoka series and the announcement of three more Star Wars films. What's more, we learned that Daisy Ridley, who played Rey in the newest trilogy, is coming back to reprise her character.
As for the Star Wars video game series, Respawn and EA are about to launch Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on April 28.
