Kill Jackie: Catherine Zeta-Jones Leads Prime Video Thriller Series
Oscar winner is set to lead the Prime Video thriller series, based on The Price You Pay novel by best-selling author Nick Harkaway.
Zeta-Jones, who won an Oscar for her supporting role in the 2002 film Chicago, will play Jackie Price in addition to serving as an executive producer. After living a very luxurious life for two decades, which includes everything from traveling the world and making use of tax loopholes while trying to stay anonymous, things start to get a little boring for the woman who escaped her past as an international cocaine dealer. That’s when things take a dangerous turn, with Jackie discovering The Seven Demons.
The Seven Demons are a squad of the world’s most terrifying hitmen and they have been hired to kill Jackie. She assumes that someone from her past is behind the operation, deciding to rely on her old instincts and take down each one of the Demons before they can kill her. The only problem is that her own demons and buried secrets are much more terrifying, leading to surprising consequences.
Kill Jackie was created and co-written by Conor Keane, who also serves as an associate producer. Damon Thomas (Killing Eve) will serve as lead director, and Tom Butterworth (Gangs of London) will be the writer and showrunner.
Executive producers are Peter Lawson and Jose Augustin Valdes for Steel Springs Pictures and Dante Di Loreto for Fremantle, in addition to Butterworth, Thomas, and Jeffrey Levine. José Luis Escolar’s Deabru Kalea Filmeak is supervising production in Bizkaia.
The Prime Video thriller hails from Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures. Kill Jackie is currently the working title for the series, which will film in Bilbao, Lisbon, London, and Swansea. It will stream on Prime Video in the U.K., Ireland, Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Canada. Fremantle is handling all other sales except for the U.S., which Steel Springs Pictures will lead.
