Review your RunsJust like timing Mythic+ dungeons or defeating difficult raid bosses, one of the most important tips for getting better at anything is practice — simply repeating the activity over and over again until it has become ingrained to the point of not even having to think about it first. Alongside that is reviewing your own runs, to see what you can improve and where you tend to run into trouble. Though Dragonriding races aren't recorded in WarcraftLogs (yet!?), you can easily record and review yourself with Nvidia Shadowplay, OBS, Windows Xbox Game Bar, or other similar software. Pre-record or grab a clip after your race to see which part gave you trouble, where you ran out of vigor, or which obstacle snuck up on you, in order to better prepare for next time!
Buff the Dragonriding UISuccessfully timing advanced races is all about speed and vigor management, and while the default Dragonriding UI may look nice, it doesn't provide a whole lot of detailed information. Darianopolis's Dragonriding UI weakaura fixes that by adding various gauges to properly track speed, acceleration, and vigor, alongside buff breakpoints and ability timers to maximize the use of all your tools and abilities! Although certainly not required to successfully complete races, that little bit of extra information may help give you an edge in securing victory.
