The December 2024 predicted streaming release date for Joker: Folie a Deux is due to Warner Bros.’s pattern of releasing its theatrical films to streaming platforms 30-45 days after their exclusive runs in theaters. However, fans should also expect a delay in the streaming release of the film should the theatrical release be delayed because of the ongoing strikes by the Writers’ Guild of America and SAG Aftra members.
At the moment, not much is known about the plot of Joker: Folie a Deux, except that it will serve as a sequel to 2019’s Joker and introduce the popular character Harley Quinn.
Joker: Folie a Deux will star Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck/Joker, Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumond, and Lady Gaga as Dr. Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn. Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey will also appear in the film in undisclosed roles.
