Morbius 2 Release Date Rumors: Is It Coming Out?

Following the release of, Marvel fans have been wondering whether or not the film would get a sequel and what the could be. Morbius became all the rage on the internet after its release thanks to the internet memes that were made about it. This notoriety resulted in the film being rereleased in theaters, but can the memes convince producers to make Morbius 2?

Furthermore, due to the critical and commercial failure of Morbius, Sony Pictures might be holding off on the idea of making a sequel. The subsequent re-release of the film in theaters thanks to the Morbius meme trend also did not help the chances of their being a Morbius 2 as the film again bombed at the box office. As a result, it is very unlikely that Morbius 2 will happen anytime soon or even happen at all.

Jared Leto leads the cast of Morbius, playing the role of the titular Dr. Michael Morbius. Other cast members include Matt Smith as Milo/Lucien, Adria Arjona as Dr. Martine Bancroft, Jared Harris as Dr. Emil Nicholas, Al Madrigal as Agent Alberto Rodriguez, Zara-Angel Hator as Anna, and Tyrese Gibson as Agent Simon Stroud. Morbius is directed by Daniel Espinosa, who previously worked on films such as Life and Safe House.

The official synopsis for Morbius reads:

“Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Michael Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.”
