PlayStation 5 New System Software Update Rolls out Today, Introducing Support for Higher Capacity M.2 SSDs
A new PlayStation 5 system software update is rolling out today, introducing various new features and options, such as new audio and accessibility options.
The new update was detailed today on the Official PlayStation Blog, which reiterated how the update introduces new features seen in the latest beta firmware, such as being able to use a second DualSense controller for assistance, new audio options that allow 3D Audio powered by Tempest 3D AudioTech to be enjoyed with compatible Dolby Atmos-enabled HDMI devices and support for larger-capacity M.2 SSDs for up to 8 TB capacity.
The new PlayStation 5 system software update also introduces PS Remote Play support for additional Android devices, such as Chromecast with Google TV (4K model) and BRAVIA XR A95L model. Later this month, Sony will start rolling out new features for the PS App globally on iOS and Android. While the Japanese company continues to add new features to the PlayStation 5 console, Sony also seems to be working hard on the hardware side of things. Alongside the PlayStation Portal handheld, the company is also working on a new PlayStation 5 revision and possibly a Pro model. With the Tokyo Game Show right around the corner, we may likely hear more about any of these systems very soon.
