Resident Evil 4 “Separate Ways” DLC has arrived, letting players see what Ada Wong was busying herself with during the game’s main story (you can check out Wccftech’s impressions of the expansion here). Of course, as always with Resident Evil, Separate Ways contains its fair share of puzzles, secrets, and unique mechanics to unravel.
Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways Chapter 3 opens up with a bit of detective work, as poor Luis has been kidnapped and you need to find out where he’s being stashed. In order to do that, you’re going to need to find a clue in the Village Chief’s Manor. You won’t be able to progress through the DLC until you solve this puzzle, but thankfully, we have the solution for you. Scroll on down for the answer…
So, you’re goal is this drawer in Village Chief Mendez’s bedroom, but not so fast -- it’s locked! So, how are you supposed to get it open?
You might think the solution is somewhere in the bedroom, but it’s not. Instead, head down the stairs, then take a left into the living-room-like area of Mendez’s house. There are a number of things you can interact with in this room, but you’re going to want to focus on this picture. Interact with it and you’ll find a hidden key! You’d think a guy like Mendez would have better security, but there ya go.
Head back upstairs and unlock the drawer. A clue directing you toward the abandoned factory can be found in there.
And there you have it – there’s no keeping secrets while Ada's on the job. Now you’re free to get Luis out of his current jam.
Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways is available now on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. You can check out more of Wccftech’s Separate Ways guides here.
