I Am Groot Season 3 Release Date Rumors: Is It Coming Out?

With new Groot shorts hitting Disney Plus, the is also highly anticipated by many Marvel fans. The latest batch of shorts follows the adventures of Baby Groot between Avengers: Infinity War and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. But will we get another season of Baby Groot and his mischief?

Here’s all the I Am Groot Season 3 release date information we know so far and all the details on when it is coming out.

At the moment of writing, another season of I Am Groot shorts has not been greenlit. But they’ve become very popular, and the first season helped sell a lot of baby Groot toys and merchandise as well. The same is expected out of Season 2. Hence, it is likely that Marvel and Disney would want to keep Baby Groot relevant!

Furthermore, I Am Groot director Kirsten Lepore confirmed she’d be interested in another season. She said:

“I would be very interested in [Season 3]. It would be very cool to see a feature-length Baby Groot, for sure, and I feel like that’s all I can say. I enjoy working with this character in any capacity they will allow me to.”

So, it’s entirely possible for another Baby Groot season. But we might have to wait a few years for it to happen. I Am Groot was originally announced to have 10 episodes. But Marvel only released 5 episodes at once and turned the next 5 into Season 2. So, both seasons of the Groot shorts were put under development at once in 2021. Whether a similar development process is taken up for Season 3, and perhaps a Season 4, remains to be seen.

Vin Diesel continues to voice Baby Groot, and Season 2 also features the voice of Jeffrey Wright as The Watcher.
