A French retailer has listed Intel's upcoming Core i9-14900KS CPU, which will feature a clock speed of up to 6.2 GHz.
A few days ago, it was reported that the Intel Core i9-14900KS CPU will be coming to retail around March 2024 and it looks like retailers have started to prepare for the upcoming launch by listing it on their official stores.
The retail listing of the Intel Core i9-14900KS CPU "BX8071514900KS" comes from French retailer, PC21.FR (spotted by Momomo_US). The chip is listed in both boxed and tray variants with the former costing €768.34 (€640.29 without taxes) and the latter costing €752.62 (€627.19 without taxes). If we compare the prices with those of the Intel Core i9-13900KS, they are similar as the boxed variant is listed for €772.99 (€644.16 without taxes). The prices being the same as the last-gen won't be a big surprise as the 14th-gen CPUs mostly cost around the same as the 13th-gen CPUs.
A few days ago, we saw the full specifications of Intel's Core i9-14900KS CPU leak out within OCCT which shows that the Intel Core i9-14900KS Desktop CPU will feature the same 24 cores and 32 threads in an 8 P-Core & 16 E-Core configs. The chip will feature 36 MB of L3 cache and 32 MB of L2 cache. As for clocks, the base frequency will be set at 3.2 GHz while the boost frequency will be set at 6.2 GHz, making this CPU the fastest-clocked chip on the planet. This is 200 MHz faster than the current fastest Core i9-13900KS and Core i9-14900K CPUs. The tradition of special edition CPUs started off with the Core i7-8086K during the Coffee Lake generation and have been ongoing as the parts listed below show:
