Divine Shards are a form of currency in . It can be used to purchase powerful late-game items, including some equipment. It also is a requirement to recruit a few people into your army.
Even though Divine Shards themselves are more of an end-game item, it still may be a good idea to use demo progress imported into the full game. This gives a good head start and additional items. While the demo time limit is restrictive, it is still possible to find Divine Shards, though highly improbable.
On the eastern part of the world map is Vansberg Town. Among their requests is helping with the excavation of Drakenhold Quarry. It is possible to earn Divine Shards here, though other items like gold are possible. You might even be able to dig up hidden treasure maps for the Drakenhold region.
To start a dig, speak to the Miner NPC. He will ask for 400 gold per dig. This is a reasonable amount, as you’ll often make back that amount if not more. You will then switch control from Alain to a generic miner. You are only given 40 seconds to dig, so move quickly. Most of the area has no ore, allowing you to move on.
If the dig HUD does appear, time your hits to land directly in the middle red section to instantly dig. Yellow and green areas will require multiple hits. Blue is a full-on dud that will only waste time.
You also have the Mighty Dig Metter. When this gauge fills, execute it immediately. It will automatically dig every item nearby. Mighty Dig also resets the entire quarry so that it can be explored again.
The amount of Divine Shards is purely random. Some runs you might get up to three, but many will be zero. It is still one of the most efficient and fastest methods, provided you have the funds to keep mining. Other quarries will open up later during ’s story, which may be cheaper to access or have longer time limits at a higher price.
