Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth features all kinds of adrenaline-fueled, over-the-top battles. The action-packed encounters can be rather lengthy, especially when it comes to the game's multi-phase boss battles.
There are some Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth bosses that can take significant periods of time to take down, with players having to go through multiple phases to ultimately come out the victors. Some of the final bosses in the game are particularly long and challenging, so it's not uncommon for players to lose, especially in their initial attempts. Whenever Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth players die, they are given multiple options for retrying, including restarting the fight or going back before the fight to give them a chance to get more items or level up before making another attempt.
Unfortunately, the wording for this retry screen caused some problems, especially during Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's multi-phase boss battles. Prior to the latest Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth patch, options included «Retry from Before Current Battle» and «Retry from This Battle.» Some players assumed that «Retry from This Battle» meant restarting the phase they were on, as opposed to the entire boss fight, but that's not the case. They needed to select «Retry from Before Current Battle,» even though that wording suggests that they would have to start the entire fight over. The result was some FF7 Rebirth players had to redo long boss fights because they selected the wrong option.
After downloading the latest Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth update, players will notice that the top option has been changed from «Retry from Before Current Battle» to «Retry from Current Phase.» This change should go a long way in ensuring that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth players don't accidentally put themselves back at the beginning of the game's egregiously long boss fights.
