Country music singer-songwriter announced that she would check herself into a rehab facility following a performance at MLB’s Home Run Derby.
On Monday, Andress opened the Home Run Derby with a rendition of the National Anthem in a performance that fans quickly pointed out as odd. Andress seemed off-key in some moments of the song, unlike past performances at events.
The performance quickly gained traction on social media, with many mocking it as one of the worst versions of “The Star Spangled Banner” performed before a sports event.
On Tuesday, Andress posted a brief statement on various social media channels, revealing that she had been drunk during the performance and would be checking herself into a facility as a result.
“I’m not gonna bulls— y’all, I was drunk last night,” Andress wrote in the statement. “I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I’ll let y’all know how rehab is. I hear it’s super fun.” She signed the missive “xo, Ingrid.”
