Gold Ore is an essential crafting resource in LEGO , but it can be surprisingly difficult to find. In the latest Lost Isles update, players need Gold Ore to smelt Gold Bars to use in several new crafting recipes. New items and weapons, such as the Explorer's Machete and Pirate Musket, all require Gold Bars to craft, so players exploring this new territory will want to find Gold Ore quickly.
To visit the Lost Isles, players need to build or find a Battle Bus Station for fast travel. The Lost Isles are instantly accessible from any Battle Bus Station and feature several new and interesting biomes and ecosystems for players to explore. To mine Gold Ore, players will need a Rare or Epic-quality Pickaxe, as Common and Uncommon-quality Pickaxes can't break down Gold Ore.
For a Rare-quality Pickaxe, players will need to find Flexwood and track down some Sand Claws.
Gold Ore can also be found in Grottos, which are caves that can also be found throughout the Lost Isles. However, while they can contain veins of Gold Ore, Grottos tend to be a little harder to find, and players may need to spend more time looking for them. To save time, the best approach is to head for Floating Islands: they're much easier to spot and can be reached using Geysers and a Glider.
The easiest way I found to reach Floating Islands was to stand on a Geyser and use it to launch into the air. Deploying a Glider allows you to slow your descent and glide between Floating Islands to mine Ore. An expensive alternative involves building and flying a Balloon Platform.
Gold Ore can be processed into Gold Bars at a Metal Smelter workbench. Each Gold Bar requires two Gold Ore and a Torch to
