Potions are carefully crafted items in that give players stat bonuses and require a specific combination of ingredients, like the Spider Fang, Created at the Potion Station in the Room of Requirement, the Maxima Potion takes a Spider Fang and Leech Juice to bolster the drinker's spell damage for a limited time. Unlike other potion recipes found in the game, the Maxima Potion's Spider Fang requires players to hunt down a specific enemy instead of simply harvesting it by exploring the wizarding world.

After crafting their first potions in Potions Class, players will then need to find Spider Fang as an ingredient required in order to complete the Professor's Assignments and unlock new spells. Players may have already encountered spiders in the dungeon to find the Map Chamber, but there are also other areas that players can explore should they need more Spider Fang.

Spider Fang is available in limited supply and can be purchased for 50 Galleons each from Parry Pippin, of J. Pippins Potion Shop in Hogsmeade. You can find the shop just North of the West Hogsmeade Floo Flame.

Parry Pippin also sells Maxima Potions in short supply as well for a whopping 300 Galleons each. Players looking to use the Maxima Potion without bothering to craft it can do so, but the recipe for Maxima Potions only costs 500 Galleons. While not costing much more, it's almost always a better plan to buy the recipe and craft it yourself to save a lot of gold in the long run, should you plan on using more potions
