Hogwarts Legacy’s Creepiest Character Is The Player
Not all of 's characters are exactly friendly or forthcoming, but it's actually the player themselves that is the creepiest of them all. This is true regardless of whether the student decides to stick to the path of light or venture down the road of dark magic. Instead, it's thanks to in-game animations and dialogue that their true character is revealed — and despite being the main character in the, they may not be as neutral as they initially seem.
Of course, when taking into account the entire history of the wizarding world, 's protagonist is tame in comparison. Villains from the main books and films, like Dolores Umbridge and the notorious Lord Voldemort, are evil through and through, with the latter quite literally siphoning life out of innocent witches and wizards to prolong his sadistic reign. Although the inclusion of Avada Kedavra has an odd Horcrux implication, the player's foray into the dark arts is limited to the Unforgivable Curses. But it turns out, they needn't even go that far in order to be the scariest person in the game.

Whether they're walking around the map or talking to a professor, 's protagonist is almost always smiling. It's clear that the late fifth-year student is enjoying their first Hogwarts experience and all the magical adventures that come alongside it, but when they're grinning from ear to ear more often than they're not, it can become quite off-putting. It's unclear whether this is a bug or an intentional feature, especially since it appears to affect female-presenting characters more frequently.
