Helldivers 2 players have spotted giant cloaked warships hovering in the sky above Automaton planets. While some assumed these were just Super Destroyers, screenshots of their silhouettes show that they're much, much bigger.
So far, they've just been ominously floating in the atmosphere, not interacting with us on the ground, but theories are bubbling about where this is all headed.
Troops have been attacked by blue lasers while on missions to liberate enemy worlds, a signature weapon of the aquatic Illuminate alien species. Some fans believe that the new cloaked ships will bring about space combat and boarding missions.
Perhaps an alliance against Super Earth is forming and the Illuminate are helping the Automatons. However, some screenshots show the cloaked ships firing red lasers. It's unclear if they're shooting at us or the Automatons. Of course, the Automatons may have discovered cloaking tech for themselves and these are their ships fighting in the skies, perhaps on their way to liberate Cyberstan and free their creators, the Cyborgs.
We just don't know yet, but warships are hiding among the stars and stalking us. That in itself is terrifying,
