Grand Theft Auto 6 is already breaking records, and it's not even out yet.

Grand Theft Auto VI will be officially unveiled on December 5, and the game is expected to break all kinds of records. It's already broken one, as Rockstar's social media post on X, formerly known as Twitter, has become the most-liked gaming-related post on the social media site of all time.
It currently has 1.9 million likes and 495,000 retweets. The post has tallied more than 166 million views, according to X's data. VGC reported that that the previous most-liked gaming tweet ever also belongs to Rockstar, this being its November post heralding that the game's first trailer would land in early December.

The most-liked tweet overall was the August 2020 post from Chadwick Boseman's family announcing the actor's passing, which had more than 6.8 million likes.
GTA VI, or whatever the next entry in the series is called, will be unveiled on Tuesday, December 5, at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET through its first trailer.
In February 2022, Rockstar said development on the next entry was «well underway.» In September of that year, a trove of video, images, and information about the game leaked online in one of gaming's biggest breaches ever. The person reportedly behind the breach was reportedly a teenager on bail in a hotel room using an Amazon Fire TV stick.
GTA VI is rumored to be set in GTA's version of Miami, known as Vice City, and could feature two playable characters and a focus on heights. The game has big shoes to fill, as GTA V has sold more than 190 million copies and is one of the best-selling games in history.
