Baldur's Gate 3 is a huge game with many different routes to take, but eventually, it's time to move on. As it happens, Larian has a long history with the CRPG genre, so understandably, many have gone back to play the studio's previous game, Divinity: Original Sin 2.
This makes a lot of sense. With turn-based combat, four-person parties, and even origin characters, it's interesting to experience the formula that Larian would later bring to the Baldur's Gate series. There is, however, one very clear difference between the two games - Divinity: Original Sin 2 is really, really bloody hard.
The Divinity series is a completely original invention of Larian Studios. It doesn't follow the Dungeons & Dragons ruleset like Baldur's Gate 3.
If you're one of many struggling through an Honour Mode run of Baldur's Gate 3, you might think that sounds ridiculous. But really, Divinity: Original Sin 2 makes even the hardest difficulty in BG3 look like a cakewalk. This is something that fans of Larian's latest work are quickly discovering as they venture back to this 2017 CRPG, as everything from combat to just figuring out where the hell they're meant to be going is kicking their butts. Across the Divinity: Original Sin subreddit, Baldur's Gate 3 fans are realising they've bitten off more than they can chew.
