GT Sport Online Services will end on January 31, 2024, Sony and developer Polyphony Digital have today announced.
In addition to online services being shut down for the 2017 racer, PS Store in-game add-ons for the game can no longer be purchased as of December 1, 2023. These add-ons include vehicles, the Scapes Content Pack, and the Lewis Hamilton Time Trial Challenge. Those who've purchased said items before December 1 will still be able to access the purchased content following the closure of the online services.
"After the end of service date, it will no longer be possible to utilize online services such as the Community, Open Lobby, and Sport Mode, nor online features/items such as custom liveries", the developer writes on the official Gran Turismo website. "The offline portions of the game can still be played, including purchased Add-Ons."
According to Sony and Polyphony Digital, going forward the team will focus on further improving services for Gran Turismo 7 on both PS4 and PS5.
Below we've included a list of content and/or features that won't be accessible after online services have been suspended on January 31, 2024:
• Online Services: It will no longer be possible to utilize online services features including the Community, Open Lobby, Quick Match, and Seasonal Events.
• Mileage Store Closure: It will no longer be possible to purchase items from Mileage Store.
• Trophies: Selected Trophies that require an online connection will no longer be accessible.
• Garage Car Liveries - It will not be possible to access custom liveries once the online service ends. All vehicles with applied liveries will return to their original color.
