There are a few video game expos and presentations that fans take up with for the industry. For instance, we had E3, Summer Game Fest, and Gamescom. These events offer a great opportunity for developers and publishers to highlight some of their upcoming projects. We may get brand new video game announcements or an update to titles fans are eagerly awaiting. However, we might already have a slight heads-up on what to expect regarding Gamescom ONL. This streaming event will take place next week, which might make some fans hopeful of thrilling new game reveals. Unfortunately, you might want to dial back some of those expectations.
During a conversation with Gamescom ONL host Geoff Keighley, VGC learned that this year’s event would focus less on new video game announcements. The host of the stream noted to the publication that fans can expect more information on already announced games. These titles will be centered around the biggest games due out over the next year. As a result, we can expect more insight into titles like Alan Wake 2 and Black Myth Wukong. So those expecting more grand video game reveals and world premiere trailers might be left out.
It’s going to be an exciting show with new looks at many announced upcoming games like Alan Wake 2, and Black Myth Wukong. This year’s ONL is less about announcing brand new projects, and more about giving fans updates on some of the biggest games due out over the next year.
Of course, we know the stream is set to take place for nearly two hours, so that might leave some room for a new reveal here and there. But don’t go into this stream showcase expecting a series of world premiere trailers. Meanwhile, some additional challenges come with this year’s Gamescom ONL.
