A Swedish gamer recently posted a permanent tribute to their father with a tattoo from Ratchet and Clank, their dad's favorite video game series. The gamer then posted the Ratchet and Clank tattoo on social media, where other gamers showed support and told stories of their own gaming experiences with their families.
While not for everyone, tattoos have long been a way for people to show tributes to important figures and moments in their lives, or to express themselves visibly. Though tattoos also can be covered up in case some memories turn sour, the tales they tell are irreplaceable. The tattoo that one gamer got to honor their father comes with a story that goes back over 20 years to the PS2 era when the Ratchet and Clank series made its debut.
Gamer Trades in 100 Pound Video Game Collection
On Reddit, a user named SwiftIy2 posted a picture on the r/gaming subreddit of the Ratchet and Clank tattoo they got to pay tribute to his father. While his father is still alive at the time of writing, SwiftIy2 said that he is getting older now and wanted to do so while he still had time to show him. The tattoo that SwiftIy2 got portrayed Clank, the robotic half of the series' titular duo. The reason behind the Clank tattoo, in SwiftIy2's words, was because his father used to play the first three Ratchet and Clank games on the PS2 over 20 years ago. Even though he first started gaming well into his 60s, SwiftIy2 claimed that his father played through those Ratchet and Clank games so much that he had completed each part of the original trilogy at least 200 times each. Needless to say, such a feat takes remarkable fortitude at any age.
