One fan of Nintendo’s iconic N64 title The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask found a gorgeous, and absolutely massive, recreation of the game’s titular mask for sale in a Mexican market, sharing a picture of the unique find online. Excitement has been building recently for the launch of the latest entry in the long-running franchise following the release of a new The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom trailer during February’s Nintendo Direct event.
Set in the mysterious world of Termina rather than the series’ usual Hyrulean haunts, 2000’s The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask was a risky departure from the formula established by its predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, only two years prior. The second fully-3D entry in the iconic franchise, Majora’s Mask tasked players with tracking down a series of magical masks to thwart the mischievous Skull Kid and save Termina from being crushed by a menacing moon. The title’s unique, time-hopping gameplay mechanic — which required players to repeatedly circle back through a 3-day time loop in order to progress through the story — gave the game a markedly distinct feel when compared to previous The Legend of Zelda titles. Now, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is widely regarded as one of the best entries in the long-running franchise.
