Approximately a year after release, one Elden Ring player was finally able to take down Margit, the Fell Omen after failing to him many times. Just like other FromSoftware titles, Elden Ring has multiple of what players would consider a «wall,» which describes a boss or challenge that can keep some players from accessing the rest of the game. It can take players a long time to get past these as long as they don't give up before they succeed. Margit, the Fell Omen is one such boss, making one player take a year before defeating him.
Margit, the Fell Omen will most likely be the first of what are called «Great Enemy Bosses,» bosses that specifically block off the players from progress. Margit blocks off the path to Stormveil Castle, which brings players to the next part of the game, Liurnia of the Lakes. Margit is a tough boss, tricking players into rolling with his slow, deliberate strikes that hit hard and faster attacks that overwhelm them, all the while on a small strip of land that leads to many Elden Ring players failing to Margit. For many players, many failures to Margit are an encouragement to turn back and explore the rest of the first area for leveling or new gear. Even still, players have to beat him, or else they can't progress.

One such player found themselves still getting blocked by the challenge of Margit's fight, and has now found the victory they were craving. Posting to r/Eldenring, one user named FatherPixels uploaded a picture of them standing in Margit's boss fight arena, earning the Talisman Pouch, an item that allows the player to hold more talismans like the Crimson Seed talisman on their person.
