There are enough exciting Nintendo Switch games coming out that it can prove to be cost-prohibitive to stay caught up. Saving a bit of money can go a long way, and it seems Costco wants to help Nintendo gamers out. This discount may not last long, though, so Nintendo fans with a Costco subscription may want to act fast.
What makes this sale particularly attractive is the recent announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's price and pre-orders. Tears of the Kingdom will be Nintendo's first price increase from the last generation standard of $60. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will instead retail for $70, a price Nintendo says it will use on a «case-by-case basis.» Nintendo Switch players will be seeking opportunities to save some money, especially knowing that Nintendo rarely lowers the price on its first-party games.

Costco's discount may be the solution that Nintendo fans are looking for, at least in the interim. Costco is currently offering $50 Nintendo eShop gift cards, which are usable on the Nintendo Switch, for a price of just $40. That's a staggering $20% off each gift card, which can then be applied to any Nintendo Switch eShop digital purchase.
There is one big limitation, of course. Costco is an exclusive store that requires buyers have a membership. A base membership at Costco will set buyers back $60 annually.
