Developers of Hogwarts Legacy have created a magical barrier that protects cats in the game. Many modern games allow fans to pet animals, with some even having trophies for petting or interacting with them. Wood later confirms that this feature was only made for internal use, and it will not make it to the release version of Hogwarts Legacy in any way.
The development team just wanted to have fun with the gameplay systems of Hogwarts Legacy, with Wood calling the spell «AVADA CAT-DAVRA!!!” in a follow-up tweet. However, it looks like many fans want it to be a part of Hogwarts Legacy, with one user requesting that it should have a 0.5% chance of getting triggered. One player wants it to be DLC for Hogwarts Legacy, while another user jokingly states that this is why there are no dogs in the game.
