After just five weeks, Hogwarts Legacy sales have already surpassed those of Elden Ring in the UK.
As reported last month, Hogwarts' digital launch sales in Europe greatly exceeded those of Elden Ring, and new data has now revealed that Hogwarts' sales in the UK have already surpassed the lifetime sales of last year's megahit from Bandai Namco and FromSoftware, Elden Ring. According to GamesIndustry.biz, when digital sales numbers for last week come in, it will have surpassed those of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga as well. Impressive numbers for sure - even more so considering the fact that Elden Ring was released on PC as well as last-gen and current-gen sales, whereas Hogwarts Legacy has yet to launch on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
"Hogwarts Legacy has now officially surpassed Elden Ring in the UK in just 5 weeks", GamesIndustry's Christopher Dring writes on Twitter. "In fact, when digital comes in, it will have surpassed LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. I expected big sales, but the scale of its performance in Europe has been huge."

Hogwarts Legacy was released last month for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. As said, the game is also still coming to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but as covered last week, the PS4 and Xbox One versions were once again delayed by one month and will now launch on May 5, 2023. The Switch version is still on track to launch globally on July 25.
