After raving about Friends vs Friends during our time with it last year (and in demos with brand new levels and characters during Steam Next Fest), Raw Fury and Brainwash Gang’s upcoming PvP first-person shooter Friends vs Friends finally has a release date…and it’s coming sooner than expected. Just over two weeks from now, in fact, as announced via the trailer below. The cuddly cartoon carnage will begin soon, so start preparing some time with your own friends as well.
Taking place in small arenas with quick 1v1 or 2v2 matches full of rapid fire gunplay, Friends vs Friends sees you playing as a bunch of friendly, anthropomorphic cartoon animals that just happen to be in possession of some potentially cursed trading cards. Said cards allow you to summon weapons, buff yourself up, or curse your opponents, all with zany effects. This also adds a deckbuilding elements to things as you plan the perfect loadout to hopefully draw, as you build your arsenal by earning more cards along the way. Coat everything in a zany ’90s coat of paint to top things off, and Friends vs Friends could easily stand out as one of the year’s most impressive shooters when in it comes out for PC on May 30, with console versions to follow later this year.
