Intel's next-gen NUC 13 Rugged Mini PC lineup featuring a fully passive design with Alder Lake-N CPUs has been revealed.
The Intel NUC 13 Rugged is the successor to the NUC 8 Rugged which was launched all the way back in 2019. These options are great for users who want the most durable Mini PCs that last long and can work in all sorts of environments. The specs aren't high-end but they do get the most basic work done for office users and businesses.
FanlessTech has revealed the specifications sheet for the Intel NUC 13 Rugged Mini PCs and they are adopting the Alder Lake-N chips. The SKUs range from the Intel Processor N50 with 2 cores & 2 threads, 6 MB L3 cache, and 6W TDP & Up to 3.4 GHz boost clocks, the Atom x7211E with 2 cores, 6 MB L3 cache, and 6W TDP at 3.2 GHz and lastly, the Atom x7425E which comes with 4 Gracemont E-Cores, 4 Threads, 6 MB L3 cache, a 12W TDP & a boost clock of up to 3.4 GHz. All chips come with an Intel UHD graphics chip and IPU.
The Intel NUC 13 Rugged Mini PCs feature support for up to 16 GB DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM with optional in-band ECC support. There's 64 GB of eMMC soldered to the PCB with storage options including an M.2 2280 key M slot (PCIe x2 SSD) and an M.2 3042 key B for SATA SSD as well as a PCIe x1 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 expansion option.
I/O includes dual HDMI 2.1 (4K@60Hz) ports, Dual Intel 2.5GbE LAN Ethernet ports, WiFi 6E AX210 (pre-installed), 2 rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, 2 rear USB 2.0 type-A ports, 2 internal USB 2 ports and a 20VDC input for 65/90W power adapters.
There will be two variants of the chassis with the heatsink external heatsink variant measuring 174 x 108 x 25.9mm and also has external antennas for the WIFI while the internal heatsink variant has measurements of 174 x 108
