Free Guy Shawn Levy revealed that he and Ryan Reynolds are set to continue their working relationship after The Adam Project, as the two are currently developing more films together. Their latest film, The Adam Project, is set to thrill fans with its forthcoming premiere on Netflix. The plot surrounds Adam (Reynolds) traveling back in time to team up with his 12-year-old self and family to save the future. The movie also stars Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, and Zoe Saldaña.
The Adam Project has had a lengthy development period that has lasted almost a decade, with the script being reworked extensively and Tom Cruise dropping out. Netflix eventually picked it up, and Levy and Reynolds stepped in to lead it into their own twist. What resulted is a film that both are extremely proud of, with Levy saying The Adam Project is Reynolds' best performance and Reynolds himself saying he considered this his most personal movie. Levy added that the movie may be a bit more emotional than audiences are expecting it to be.
