This weekend, Netflix is welcoming a docuseries about a famous artist, the final season of a historical fiction TV series, and a sci-fi movie. As the world tries to go back to normal amidst the coronavirus pandemic, with cinemas open and working again and studios releasing some of the movies that had to be delayed in the last two years, streaming services continue to gain force thanks to their original content and for offering a home to some of the movies that chose to skip a theatrical release. In Netflix’s case, it keeps the attention of its subscribers thanks to its weekly additions of licensed and original content from different genres and for all viewers.
Last weekend, and as it does on the first days of every month, Netflix added a bunch of licensed content, such as Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street and its 2010 remake, the horror crossover Freddy vs Jason, fan-favorites Shrek and Shrek 2, the horror movie Texas Chainsaw 3D, the drama The Shawshank Redemption, and Tony Scott’s Top Gun, along with the true-crime docuseries Worst Roommate Ever, the historical survival movie Against the Ice, the thriller The Weekend Away, and the thriller drama TV series Pieces of Her. On the licensed content front this weekend, the streaming giant will bring season 4 of Good Girls, season 7 of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, the Argentinian thriller Refugiado, Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, and the action thriller London Has Fallen.
