A new Baldur’s Gate 3 update has been released by developer Larian Studios following the game’s launch earlier this week.
The patch update includes numerous fixes and improvements, enhancing gameplay, and resolve various issues players have been butting up against since launch day. Key features include addressing crashes while offering improvements across the board, including gameplay, cinematics, UI, and audio.
Even after almost 3 years in early access, Larian appear to be ironing out issues. It should come as no surprise considering the sheer scale of Baldur’s Gate 3 – not only is it one of the most hotly-anticipated games of 2023, it’s arguably the biggest.

Crashes and Blockers
The update resolves several crashes and issues, such as getting stuck mid-dialogue, losing character state progress, crashing at loading screens, character creation, and more. Error messages have been added to prevent crashes caused by mods, and Larian account cross-saves have been temporarily disabled.
Multiplayer
The multiplayer aspect sees improvements where players now correctly join cinematic dialogues and an issue that allowed listening to private dialogues using the context menu has been fixed.
Gameplay
Numerous gameplay enhancements have been introduced, including fixes for hair physics, dice rolling, spell duplication, and more. Dark Urge randomisation, character interactions, and other gameplay aspects have also been improved.
UI
UI-related issues in cinematic dialogues and character sheet updates have been addressed, ensuring a smoother experience.
