Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is setting out to be a massive game, and it will require a lot of time to see everything it has to offer.
Speaking with Game Informer, Director Naoki Hamaguchi commented on the game's length, confirming that it will take around 40 hours to complete just the main storyline. Those looking to experience the game's side content, which makes up about 80 percent of the exploration-based content, will require around 100 hours to fully complete the game, making for a much bigger game than Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director also touched upon the game's open world, saying that, while the different regions are labeled as separate areas on the map, players will be able to travel between them seamlessly. In the open world, players will have plenty of things to do, including exploring some brand-new towns, such as Crow's Nest, where players will be able to partake in side adventures.
Speaking about sidequests, the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director highlighted how they provide additional opportunities to learn more about the world and its inhabitants and expand the relationship between characters. Sidequests will feature specific secondary protagonists alongside Cloud, and completing them will deepen the relationship between Cloud and the involved character.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launches on February 29th on PlayStation 5. You can learn more about the game by checking out our preview.
