Fallout TV Series Renewed for Second Season Ahead of Premiere
Prior to its premiere on Amazon Prime Video later this week, the Fallout TV series has already been renewed for a second season. While the first season was filmed in New York and Utah, the next season is slated to be filmed in California after the California Film Commission offered a whopping $25 million in tax incentives.
All episodes of Amazon Prime’s Fallout TV series were slated to premiere on April 11, but this has been changed to April 10 at 6 PM PST. The first episode will also be broadcast on Twitch.
“Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have,” the show’s description reads.
“200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them.”
The series will star Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten, and Ella Purnell, and is being produced by Amazon Studios alongside Kilter Films. Johnathan Nolan, best known for his work on the HBO series Westworld, is serving as the show’s executive producer along with Lisa Joy.
The last game in the Fallout series, Fallout 76, was released in 2018 for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. It’s unclear when the next game in the franchise will be released, though fans are gearing up to wait at least another decade. Bethesda has announced that its next game on the docket after Starfield maintenance ends is The Elder Scrolls 6.
