Fallout TV Series Had to Cut Ideas to Avoid Clashing With Fallout 5
The upcoming Fallout television show had certain aspects of the story cut by Bethesda's Todd Howard because he plans to use them in Fallout 5. As the live-action Fallout adaptation for Amazon Prime draws closer, small pieces of insight into Fallout 5 are being revealed.
The Fallout franchise is one of the most notable post-apocalyptic RPGs in gaming, and its popularity has given life to an all-new Fallout TV series set to release on Amazon Prime. After a new trailer for the Fallout series dropped a few days ago, it looks like the team behind the show is going to be adding an exciting new chapter to the franchise. Based on the trailer alone, Amazon Prime's Fallout series seems filled with plenty of action and satirical humor. With many fans hoping for Fallout 5 to be revealed sometime in the future, a recent interview with the showrunners of the series may give fans a little bit of hope in regard to the next game.
Showrunners Graham Wagner and Jonathan Nolan revealed in an interview with Den of Geek that Todd Howard asked them to cut specific details and ideas because Howard had already planned to use them for Fallout 5. With the Fallout show receiving Todd Howard's praise, it seems as though he, Wagner, and Nolan had similar ideas when it comes to crafting a new Fallout story.
During the show's production, Todd Howard was careful not to let details of the Fallout TV show clash with his vision for Fallout 5. When asked about having to request Wagner and Nolan scrap certain story ideas, Howard said, «Well, there were some things where I said, ‘Don’t do this because we are going to do that in Fallout 5.» As the TV show is set nine years after the events of Fallout 4, it makes one wonder what aspects of Howard's vision collided with Wagner and Nolan's.
