One of Fable's creators, Peter Molyneux, has shared his reactions to the reboot's Xbox Summer Showcase trailer, noting that it has the same "ridiculous energy" as the original trilogy and that his expectations are high, while also pointing out the lack of gameplay.
After having originally been revealed in 2020, Playground Games' Fable reboot went dark for a long time, leaving rumours and speculation as the only source of new information on the game. That all changed at Xbox's Summer Showcase, which opened up with a new in-engine look at the game that has generally been well-received. One thing that fans weren't happy about, however, was the lack of much real gameplay, as most of the footage shown appeared to be more like an in-engine proof of concept.

As it turns out, this criticism is one that's also been shared by someone rather close to the Fable series - one of its original creators, Peter Molyneux. As reported by IGN, Molyneux recently spoke to GameReactor during Gamelab Barcelona, where he was asked about his thoughts on the reboot's latest trailer. Overall, Molyneux seemed to be very positive and optimistic about Playground Games' take on the series, although he did point out the lack of gameplay footage.
Molyneux said, "Like you, I would have loved to see more gameplay, but I loved when the hero threw the fireball. I loved the sensation of the impact. I thought it was truly promising. So yes, my expectations are high".
