ComingSoon is excited to debut an exclusive clip from Joshua Oppenheimer’s upcoming post-apocalyptic musical movie about a wealthy family who survived the end of the world. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters in Los Angeles and New York on December 6, 2024, and in select cities on December 13, 2024.
“Twenty-five years after environmental collapse left the Earth uninhabitable, Mother, Father and Son are confined to their palatial bunker, where they struggle to maintain hope and a sense of normalcy by clinging to the rituals of daily life,” reads the synopsis.

The video features award-winning actors Tilda Swinton (Michael Clayton) and Michael Shannon (Nocturnal Animals) in an awkward family dinner with George MacKay (1917) and Moses Ingram (The Queen’s Gambit). The film will also star Bronagh Gallagher, Tim McInnerny, Lennie James, and Danielle Ryan.
Described as a poignant and deeply human musical, The End is directed by Joshua Oppenheimer, who co-wrote the screenplay with Rasmus Heisterberg (A Royal Affair). In addition to starring, Swinton is also serving as a producer along with Oppenheimer and Signe Byrge Sorensen. It will feature songs by Joshua Schmidt (music) and Oppenheimer (lyrics).
Prior to its theatrical release, the film had its world premiere at the 51st Telluride Film Festival last August. Afterward, Neon successfully acquired the rights to the movie.
