If you’ve played Dungeons of Dreadrock, you most probably loved the game. This puzzle video game by indie developer Christoph Minnameier has a sequel called Dungeons of Dreadrock 2: The Dead King’s Secret that landed on Switch in November. And now, it’s going to land on mobile soon!
Dungeons of Dreadrock 2 is the second episode in the Dungeons of Dreadrock trilogy and is expected to drop on Android on December 29th. That’s two years after its prequel was released on mobile. So, what’s new in the sequel? Let’s find out!
If you haven’t played the first game, let me rewind it a bit for you. Set in a Nordic-inspired world of Dreadrock Mountain, you play as a determined young woman who is out there to rescue her brother. It’s caves and caves which she has to crawl in order to find him and bring him back home.
In Dungeons of Dreadrock 2, you step into the shoes of the priestess of the Order of the Flame. You embark on a quest to uncover the Crown of Wisdom buried in the depths of Dreadrock Mountain.
The sequel expands the story of the first game. The heroine from the original game is back, and now you get to unravel her backstory and her secret role in the events that unfolded.
You get 100 handcrafted levels with challenging puzzles, deadly traps and creepy enemies. There’s no inventory sorting or RNG and only an occasional hint system to help you out when you’re stuck. Movement is tile-based, so every step feels calculated.
If you love puzzle games that demand logical solutions and a bit of dungeon crawling, then you can try Dungeons of Dreadrock 2. It’s now up for pre-registration on Android, so check it out on the Google Play Store.
Visually, the sequel sticks to its roots, recycling assets from the original but adding a few new monsters and mechanics. Take a look at it right here!
