The wait is finally over, as players swarm to the game's early access launch, but the extreme challenge and difficulty have many questioning whether the experience needs to be adjusted. While the franchise is known for providing fans with authentic interactive battles that capture the ferocity of the anime, the classic games always managed to straddle the line between accessible and tough. That doesn't appear to be the case with as one fight in particular is driving many players to request a balance patch.
Over on Reddit, one of the most widely criticized parts of the game is the fight against Great Ape Vegeta, with user MountainDou pointing out that the massive opponent is able to demolish players by unleashing a seemingly endless onslaught of Galick Gun attacks.
User Cirkusleader took this a step further, stating that some segments of the story mode are "" thanks to enemies dealing significantly more damage than players and the AI breaking out massive combos at a second's notice. The consensus amongst the community is that Spike Chunsoft needs to adjust the difficulty to make the experience more fair.
Since only a small portion of the community has access to at the time of writing, it can be difficult to nail down whether the difficulty complaints are justified. Having said that, the sheer number of posts regarding the AI's brutal speed and combos suggests that the problem is widespread enough that something needs to be rebalanced. It could be the case that players new to the franchise are simply struggling but even veterans with experience have stated that they're battling with some of the encounters.
