With Alan Wake 2 and its post-launch expansions now firmly in Remedy Entertainment’s rearview mirror, all eyes are now on the future projects that the developer has in its pipeline, with Control 2 – officially confirmed to be in development back in 2022 – being of particular interest to many. Fans of the acclaimed 2019 original, in fact, will be happy to know that its sequel is continuing to make good progress behind the scenes.
That’s as per Remedy Entertainment itself, which has stated in its recent quarterly earnings report that Control 2 is continuing development in the production readiness stage, which it entered earlier this year, and that, thanks to the progress it is making, the project is on track to enter full production at some point next year.
“Control 2 has progressed well in the production readiness stage and is on track to start full production during 2025. Many of the critical features of the game have been implemented to mitigate production risk, and workflows and pipelines are being tested in preparation for full production,” the company says.
Control 2 is going to be self-published by Remedy Entertainment. The sequel was seemingly teased at the end of the recently released Alan Wake 2 DLC, The Lake House, with glimpses apparently being showcased at the very end. Read more on that through here.
In addition to Control 2, Remedy Entertainment is currently also working on co-op Control spinoff FBC: Firebreak and Max Payne 1 and 2 Remake.
