The creation of a will is entirely intent on playing beyond your first generation of Sims. This makes it ideal for legacy challenges, where the initial Sims will grow old and eventually die. The use of inheritance is less useful if you have made adjustments to time in. With long lifespans, most of the population will take a long time to die of just old age. And if the Sim you played is immortal, then the will won’t come into effect.
A Sim can start on their will as a teen or older. There are two methods to starting a will in. You can wait for the Ravenwood Family Day festival every Saturday at the Crow’s Crossing neighborhood. This allows you to directly consult with an Inheritance Lawyer NPC that will help you complete the will. Inviting the lawyer over via “” on the Sims’s phone is also possible. But it glitched when I did this, and no NPC ever arrived.
The Inheritance Lawyer is randomly chosen from the pool of unemployed, unplayed adult Sims. This could be a pre-existing townie or one newly randomly generated. will not pick existing Sims on the high-paid law career track .
The other option is to write your own will on any computer. The option is under the “Household…” tab and then “Start Will”. The basic will is placed in the Sim’s inventory. Select it there to gain several more options until the will is finished.
