After unveiling the GeForce RTX 4060 Series of graphics cards, NVIDIA also made some DLSS 3 announcements today.
Firstly, DLSS Frame Generation has been added to the latest version (2.4.5) of D5 Render, the popular 3D rendering software compatible with SketchUp, 3ds Max, Revit, Archicad, Rhino, C4D, and Blender.
D5 Render already supported DLSS 2, but with DLSS 3, the frame rate nearly doubles when using GeForce RTX 40 GPUs, which is going to be useful both during production and when demonstrating work progress to clients.
Of course, NVIDIA DLSS 3 announcements are usually related to new games, and today is no exception. The upcoming post-apocalyptic shooter MMO Ashfall will also support DLSS Frame Generation on day one. To accompany the news, NVIDIA showcased a 4K gameplay reveal trailer of the game developed by Legendary Star Studio and published by NetEase Games.
As some of you may remember, there are two upcoming games named Ashfall. The other game is in development at Liithos, a company founded by former Sony veterans John Garvin and Michael Mumbauer, with the latter quick to point out the similarities between the two titles.
At any rate, NetEase's game is the one that's getting DLSS 3 support. Their Ashfall is a cross-platform (PC/mobile) title set in an Eastern-inspired wasteland where players take the role of Wanderers, roaming various biomes like deserts and mountains in search of the mythical Core of Creation, an item of legend that is said to have the potential to heal the world.
In terms of gameplay, Ashfall is said to be a third-person shooter with cover elements where players explore perilous dungeons in search of loot. Other elements include crafting, home building, and puzzles. A beta test will take place in
