Blizzard has already had plenty to share with Diablo IV fans at BlizzCon so far, kicking things off with the unveiling of the game's first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, at the event's opening ceremony on Friday.
A new blog update, released ahead of today's campfire chat at 2:30 PDT, sheds light on new content coming to the game's current Season of Blood, as well as a peek at what's ahead for Season Three, and the game's first seasonal event: Midwinter Blight.
Patch 1.2.2 coming November 7 will add new Malignant Rings for each of the game's five classes. In 1.2.3, currently set to drop on December 5, Blizzard will add a preview feature for the Occultist, providing players the ability to make more informed choices when enchanting gear.
Abbatoir of Zir, a six week endgame event experience that will also drop in patch 1.2.3, will offer players who have reached level 100 and slain Uber Duriel a highly replayable challenge with commensurate rewards: a Paragon Glyph created from Lord Zir's own blood.
Looking ahead, Season Three will introduce The Gauntlet, a weekly challenge dungeon allowing players to compete against others in their class, earning top players a spot on the Seasonal Hall of the Ancients.
Lastly, the blog update discussed Midwinter Blight, Diablo IV's first seasonal event, which begins on December 12 and runs for three weeks. Not much detail was provided on the event, but you'll want to keep on the lookout for a «mysterious red-cloaked terror» once the event kicks off next month.
